Episode 6: Words of Life
Scripture: John 6:60–69
What do you do when following Jesus becomes difficult?
In John 6, many of Jesus’ disciples walk away. Not strangers. Not enemies. Disciples. They had seen the miracles. They had eaten the bread. But when his teaching became hard—when it no longer met their expectations—they turned back.
In this episode, we sit in that uncomfortable moment.
Why do people walk away from faith?
Is leaving church the same thing as leaving Jesus?
What do we do with doubt, disappointment, and deconstruction?
Jesus does not chase the crowd. He does not soften his words. Instead, he turns to the Twelve and asks, “You do not want to leave too, do you?”
Peter’s response still echoes today:
“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
This episode is an invitation to rediscover the difference between religious activity and the life-giving words of Christ while considering what it means to stay with him, even when faith feels costly.
