A Review of Faith Together: Moving Forward by Looking Back

I recently began listening to a podcast called “Faith Together”. The Faith Together podcast is from the Center for Faith & Family at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. With hosts Dr. Leon Blanchette and Pastor Lindsey Bush, it provides discussions and resources to help parents, caregivers, teachers, and others pass their faith to the next generation.

I specifically wanted to highlight a four-part series called “Moving Forward by Looking Back,” which I found to be thought-provoking and helpful. The series delves into early Christian practices and their relevance in today’s faith formation, making it a worthwhile listen for those seeking a deeper understanding of their own faith journey.

What I found most helpful about “Moving Forward by Looking Back” is the integration of historical exploration and practical application. Leon and Lindsay invite Dr. Mark Frisius to guide the listeners through conversations regarding of faith formation in the early church and the potential impact it can have on parents and the wider church community today.

The series strikes a balance between academic depth and accessible conversation. By blending historical anecdotes, scholarly analysis, and practical insights, each episode becomes an engaging exploration of how faith the earliest Christians have a great deal to teach us.

As someone invested in the faith formation , I found “Moving Forward by Looking Back” to be a refreshing and enriching experience. As a pastor, the series prompted me to reflect on the practices of the Church as well as my own spiritual practices through the lens of history. Whether you’re a parent, a pastor, or a seasoned theologian, this series offers something for everyone, inviting listeners on a transformative journey of faith exploration.

“Faith Together: Moving Forward by Looking Back” is a valuable series of podcast episodes to those who are seeking guidance on how to share their faith in culture that has experienced rapid change. With engaging hosts and thought-provoking conversation, I wholeheartedly recommend this series to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of faith formation and its enduring relevance in today’s world. Tune in and prepare to be inspired on your own journey of faith discovery.
